Sprints & Kanban

Plan work in time-boxed sprints and visualise progress on a Kanban board.

Sprint lifecycle

PlanningActiveCompleted
  • Planning — Sprint is being set up. Add tickets and story points.
  • Active — Work has started. The Kanban board is live.
  • Completed — Sprint is closed. All tickets retain their history.

Creating a sprint

  1. Go to Sprints in the sidebar.
  2. Click + New Sprint.
  3. Enter a name, optional goal, start date, end date, and select the project.
  4. Click Create. The sprint starts in Planning status.

Adding tickets to a sprint

Open the sprint board and click + Add Tickets. A searchable modal lists all project tickets that are not yet in a sprint. Select one or more and confirm — they appear on the board immediately.

You can also assign a ticket to a sprint from the ticket detail page: open the ticket, find the Sprint dropdown in the sidebar panel, and choose a sprint.

Story points

Story points are a relative effort estimate for each ticket. Set them on the ticket detail page or directly on the sprint board. The sprint header shows a progress bar: completed points / total points, giving you a quick view of how much work is done.

Kanban board columns

Columns map directly to ticket statuses. Moving a ticket to a different column on the board updates its status in real time. Click any ticket card to open the full ticket detail.

Starting and completing a sprint

On the sprint board, use the action buttons in the header:

  • Start Sprint — moves status from Planning → Active.
  • Complete Sprint — moves status from Active → Completed. Tickets keep their sprint assignment so you have a permanent record.
  • Delete Sprint (Admin only) — removes the sprint and unlinks all tickets from it.
